Description[]

Yeti or Not, Here They Come[]

You and your friends are about to venture into a 1950s campground overrun by huge, menacing yetis who rip apart anyone who gets in their way. You must flee to the ranger tower to escape.

In a 1950s campground, a group of towering, terrifying yetis are running rampant, ripping apart campers, rangers and anyone else who gets in their way. In “YETI: Campground Kills,” guests must flee through the campground into cabins, a bait shack and even the outhouse in hopes of making it to the ranger tower before it’s too late.

Backstory[]

The tribe of Yetis previously seen in Yeti: Terror of the Yukon (including a family of Yetis with Yeti Babies) attack a campground in the Rocky Mountains, slaughtering everyone in their path. Guests would have to make a mad dash from the Campground to the Radio Tower in order to escape the carnage, passing through cabins, a bait shack, and an outhouse.

Experience[]

Queue and Facade[]

Upon entering, guests are transported to the facade, Ranger Station #32 of Shadow Creek State Park. The area is heavily wooded, appropriately smelling of pine. A small cabin stands before them, accompanied by the park’s signage. A corpse lies on the building’s front doorstep, bloodied and mangled, as they are immediately attacked from the right by a yeti. They walk around the cabin, entering it through the side.

Walkthrough[]

Guests enter the dimly lit cabin, where within a ranger missing an arm leaps out at guests. Turning right, guests continue down the hall as a yeti leaps out from the right as guests exit the cabin.

Guests entering a nearby campsite where some tents are lit. A body slides out of the tent and violently dragged next to guests as they begin to hear a roars of the yetis. The shadow silhouettes of the campers in the neighboring tent are seen being violently thrashed by the yetis as guests continue into the campgrounds.

Guests are then are attacked by a yeti among the trees on their right. Passing a camp bulletin board, guests are scared by a bruised and bloodied Mrs. Jones, who asks guests if they've seen her boy "Billy", before calling out for him.

Nearby, guests pass a sign for Dottie's Bait & Tackle and are quickly startled by Billy, who excitingly points out a dead baby yeti at his feet. He is quickly slashed by a yeti and pulled into the woods by his attacker.

Guests continue forward towards the Bait & Tackle shop, but are attacked by a yeti who lunges at guests. Turning right into the shop, guests see a body on their right as another yeti attacks on their left, followed by a woman armed with a frying pan on the right who tries to scare and chase away the yeti as guests exit the room.

Guests continue onto a lakeside walkway, where to their right, some dead bodies are floating in the water. Guests are quickly attacked by a yeti on the right. As they continue forward, and another victim pops out of the wall on their left and screams "What the hell are those things?" before being dragged back in. Passing another Wilderness bulletin board and various camping supplies, another Yeti attacks from above with its claw swiping down as guests. As guests enter a bathroom, on their left from a toilet, a snake can be seen hissing before lunging at guests and spraying them with venom. Toward the exit of the bathroom, guests continue as a Yeti tries to break through a window on the left.

Guests make a right into another cabin, whose second floor has collapsed in on itself. As they make their way through the cabin's remnants, avoiding another Yeti, a bear hidden as taxidermy among the cabin's rubble leaps forward at guests as they quickly make a right out of the cabin and enter another nearby campsite.

Guests enter the campsite as a bloodied woman wearing hair curlers pops out from behind a tree on their right, screaming. Guests see what's left of a campsite, featuring a "Happy Retirement" banner strung up in the trees on their right. Under the banner is a campfire, with a body burnt to a crisp. Continuing forward, an RV can be seen rocking back and forth. The head of a lifeless victim is in the window of the RV's entrance, while the shadow silhouettes of Yetis murdering people inside is projected on the other window. On their left, guests see a retirement cake and some gifts are left on the bench with a lantern, where another Yeti lunges at guests.

Pushing forward, guests find themselves in front of a tall ranger tower, where among flickering light the body of a lifeless park ranger is seen hanging on the edge of the railing. Another Yeti attacks guests on their left. Guests continue forward, pushing past curtains of mattresses and sleeping bags, and find themselves in the middle of the forest as they try to dodge the Yetis lunging at them from every corner. Guests are jump-scared by one final Yeti before exiting the soundstage.

Trivia[]

  • This house was a dark comedy house.
  • Even though the house is called Yeti, it is actually mainly influenced by the legend of Bigfoot.
  • Many scents are pumped into the house to add to the atmosphere of the 1950's campground including: chocolate cake, popcorn, pine, and even some unpleasantness in the outhouse scene.
  • There is an alternate scare in this house. By the giant sign for Dottie's Bait & Tackle (after Mrs. Jones calls for Billy), if Billy isn't present for the scare, instead a Yeti will stomp out from behind the sign, look down at the dead Baby Yeti, and let out an angry, mournful howl.
  • According to RIP Tour guides, a plush squirrel was hidden at the base of the Ranger Station meant to represent Earl the Squirrel, albiet without his red hat.
  • The forest the house is set in, established as “Shadow Creek State Park”, is a reference to the prior house Yeti: Terror of the Yukon, set in “Shadow Creek Mining Camp”, itself a reference to Shadowcreek Labs, the main setting of Havoc: Dogs of War.
  • Following a trend from prior years, the park’s main station, Ranger Station #32, is a clear reference to the event being in its 32nd year
  • This year, the Art and Design team would hide frogs in each of the houses as an Easter egg for fans to discover. This house would have two frogs, “kissing” on a log during the lake scene. One frog would later be given a mini raccoon skin cap to help fans trying to spot them.
  • In the disastrous retirement party scene on the picnic table reads a letter for the dead retiree couple that reads "We are so thrilled you'll be retiring down in sunny Florida! Enjoy your time at Shadow's Creek State Park, just gorgeous this time of year. Hope Fifi does fine at the camper, that spoiled dog! Be safe and see at the beach. Welcome to retirement life! Watch out for bears haha."
  • The Fisherman’s sound cue (“What the hell are those things?”) was the exact same recording used in Yeti: Terror of the Yukon.
