Evil super-villains hold MSHI in their grasp. Mutant half-dinoasur half-humans hunt terrorized guests amid the lush foliage of JP. Lost souls and demons lie in wait in a horrible world of fire AND darkness in the Lost Continent.
These islands of fear and more await those who dare to brave the harrowing experiences that comprise HHN, presented this year for the first time in the event's 12-year history at IOA.
"It's the classic epic struggle of good versus evil, light versus dark", said Bob Gaul, president and chief operating officer for uni orl. "We've taken the highly themed, colorful islands by day and turned them into dark, twisted versions of themselves at night. The result is the difference between a haunted house that happens to be at a theme park and an entire theme park that is truly haunted.
Universal's "scream team" of designers used the special content, atmosphere, and physical layout of IOA to create an entirely new Halloween event that immerses guests in the fright-fest from the moment they enter the park until they leave, with no pause or secape in-between.
Within the islands, even the rides and attractions are scarier. Under the cloak of complete darkness, the waters of JRPA become eerily haunting. The winding, dimly lit corridors of the Dueling Dragons queue line have become home to crazed creatures and the Incredible Hulk Coaster is even more ominous when the sun goes down.
This year’s Halloween Horror Nights also includes five all-new haunted mazes, including the event’s first-ever outdoor maze in Jurassic Park; new live shows, including an all-new version of the cult favorite — Bill and Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure; and hundreds of new stalking creatures and spooks created for their particular island and especially for this year’s event.
