Backstory[]
Step inside of Universal Horror Unleashed and you’ll find yourself in Warehouse 25, an abandoned production warehouse filled with cursed and haunted set pieces, film props, and other mysterious paraphernalia from Universal’s legacy of horror.
Shadow World[]
The Shadow World is a world that's been hidden throughout many peoples' lives. When you were younger and afraid of what was under your bed or what you thought was in the darkened closet, you thought that was something that was going to get you. Something that lived with monsters and maniacs. You believed it was just the stuff of imagination, but now you're entering and witnessing that world of the shadows.
Attractions[]
Haunted Houses[]
- Universal Monsters - Horror’s most emblematic icons await in the Universal Monsters haunted house, where the cinematic legends have broken free from the silver screen to stalk unwitting victims.
- The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Based on the 1974 horror masterpiece, “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” haunted house will bring to life the original film for the first time in a linear sequence, placing guests in the footsteps of the victims as they face horrifying iconic scenes and characters. Their journey starts in a Texan cemetery – the first fateful stop – followed by an encounter with the Old Man at the dusty gas station featured in the chilling barbecue scene. As they enter the infamous dilapidated home, guests will come face-to-face with Leatherface and every member of his deranged family and their victims, as the terrifying sound of chainsaws haunts them at every turn.
- The Exorcist: Believer - Share the fate of two possessed girls as you withstand the assault of an ancient demon in Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer
- Scarecrow: The Reaping - Scarecrow: The Reaping plunges you into the middle of a dusty nightmare. You’ll explore a farm during the great Midwestern Dust Bowl of the 1930s where horrifying scarecrows come to life to wreak havoc on those who’ve ravaged their land.
Immersive Areas[]
- Kill Vault - Surrounded by rusty knives and machetes, the eerie characters at Kill Vault – from a strange surgeon to psychotic slashers – are lurking in the shadows attempting to lure their next victim as they interact with everyone in sight.
- Prop Graveyard - The line between inanimate and alive blurs, as guests face a supernatural collection of unsettling dolls, dismembered mannequins and other haunted objects from abandoned film sets that seem to move as guests walk through.
- Dead Storage - Echoing the grandiosity of Universal’s earliest horror productions, Dead Storage will envelop guests in a shadow-filled sanctuary with forgotten set pieces and eerie relics that have been reclaimed by night-dwelling creatures – vampires, a werewolf in mid-transformation, and others that emerge without warning.
Dining[]
- Rough Cuts - Guests can feast on “chainsaw” carved small plates as they witness a variety of show moments.
- Premiere House - Premiere House serves a variety of signature cocktails and a surprising selection of signature shareable bites set amid an eerie atmosphere filled with movie props and twisted décor representing some of Universal’s most recent Blumhouse horror films.
- The Boiler Bar - The Boiler is equal parts hellish spectacle and welcome reprieve, offering guests a perfect vantage point for those seeking momentary respite while remaining immersed in the action, enjoying craft cocktails underneath a monstrous flaming machine.
- Jack's Alley - Step right up to Jack’s Alley Bar at Universal Horror Unleashed! Sip on spooky cocktails & witness acrobatic mayhem as Jack the Clown & Chance unleash their twisted carnival of chaos!!

Trivia[]
- Area 15 worked closely with Universal in expanding what they currently do to a whole new district. They will be District 1 of the area, meanwhile Universal Horror Unleashed will be District 2, a whole other piece of real estate and a whole other complex with a 100,000 sq ft. building, which is larger than the current Area 15 building.
- According to T.J. Mannarino, they wanted to avoid the concept of having the attraction of being flashy as the other areas around Las Vegas. Therefore, Universal Horror Unleashed is themed to be an abandoned-like warehouse or a well-kept hidden warehouse that seems to be fortified, not keeping anyone from getting in but something getting out. This is accomplished with minimal lighting, among other tricks of the haunt trade.
- According to Nate Stevenson, the team wanted to make an overarching story very simply and quickly. This resulted in The Shadow World, the main setting that is featured in the attraction. A thin veil is uncovered between our world and the Shadow World, and it grows so thin in certain other areas because of all the spiritual activities surrounding it, and creatures, ghouls and goblins and other terrible things come through.
- Universal would bring back Legendary Truth and have them as one of the focal points of the attraction's story. They serve as on-site monitors, making sure that the living horrors do not leave the vicinity of the building and into our reality.
- According to TJ Mannarino, Universal scavenged through their warehouses to collect many props to fit in this attraction.
- Various props from the past Halloween Horror Nights events can be spotted throughout the building, such as the RUN sign from Halloween Horror Nights XI, Universal Palace Theater sign from Halloween Horror Nights: Ripped From the Silver Screen, and Lady Luck's Roulette Wheel from Halloween Horror Nights 21. Assorted costumes and masks from the past also reside here, like Treaks and Foons, Agnus Strickler and Rosalia the Mask Maker, among many others.
- The soundtrack for the attraction was composed from scratch by Midnight Syndicate, who have collaborated with Halloween Horror Nights many times before.
