The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Flesh Wounds was one of the eight haunted houses that was featured during Halloween Horror Nights: Carnival of Carnage. It was located in the Earthquake Queue.

History and Location[edit | edit source]

In 2007, Universal made a deal with New Line Cinema to bring three of their most famous horror movie monsters to their Halloween Horror Nights event. One of these monsters was Leatherface.

For his house, Universal decided to create a direct movie tie-in house. The house would be based on the 2003 remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and would be called The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Flesh Wounds (although some people say the name of the haunted house was originally going to be called The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Fresh Wounds).

The house would be located in the large extended queue for the Earthquake attraction. It would be the last one located in this area due to the attractions closing. However, a similar haunted house venue was also opened the following year.

The character of Leatherface would not reappear at Halloween Horror Nights until 2016's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre haunted house.

Description[edit | edit source]

Trapped in the Hewitt family home, you are hunted by the chainsaw wielding Leatherface and his family of freaks.

Inside the Hewitt family home, terror awaits you at every corner. You flee blindly through their dimly lit slaughterhouse, hunted by the chainsaw-wielding maniac Leatherface and his family of freaks.

Website[edit | edit source]

On the Halloween Horror Nights: Carnival of Carnage website, guests could click on the attraction page for this haunted house. There, Jack would occasionally pop up where the description of the house should be. After clicking on an entry ticket, guests would be taken to the backstory page for the house.

On the backstory page, guests would be in a dark room using their mouse as a light source. Visitors could click on jars to see a jar of eyeballs, maggot, and chainsaw oil with cockroaches crawling on them. Clicking on the jars plays various sounds. On the backstory page, guests could also click on a chainsaw to see a short video.

On the carnival page, guests could click on a Blair's Meats trailer to see a chainsaw. Visitors would have to click on the components of the chainsaw in the right order to start it. They were given a hint in Jack's bus in the form of a note. If visitors successfully started the chainsaw, they would be rewarded with a preview video of the house. Guests can also find an unsolved case file in Jack's bus, where they can see photos of the Hewitt house. Finally, visitors could see a skull, a pair of glasses, a bottle of chainsaw oil, and Travis County circled on a map in Jack's bus.

Story[edit | edit source]

Jack’s carnival showcased the Hewitt House as one of it’s sideshows.

Experience[edit | edit source]

Queue and Facade[edit | edit source]

Guests would enter the queue of this house to the left of the entrance for Beetlejuice's Graveyard Revue. The queue would go to a backstage area behind the Earthquake building, where the line would loop around multiple times before entering the Earthquake building from the back. At the end of the queue, guests would approach the facade, The Hewitt Family House. Guests would enter through the front door of the facade.

Haunted House[edit | edit source]

Upon entering the Hewitt house, guests would be thrown into the most iconic scenes from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise. One of the last rooms was an outdoor area, featuring many hanging white sheets. Leatherface would chase guests through these sheets.
