The In Between was one of the houses at Halloween Horror Nights XXI: No One Beats the House at. It is the first 3-D house to be held at HHN since Jack's Funhouse in Clown-O-Vision at Halloween Horror Nights: Carnival of Carnage.
Story
"An ominous portal reveals a 3rd dimension where all is not what it seems: a realm where our world and another collide. Surrounded by fiendish creatures, your eyes will deceive you with every step through this phantasm of terror."
Louis is an A-grade college student and an honors student in his professor's (actually Lady Luck) class. One Saturday night, Louis decides to ditch studying in his dorm and instead uses his key to his professor's file cabinet to steal a cursed Ancient Ruins game. The professor soon finds the game missing and leaves a message on Louis' cell phone, warning him that the game is more then an archeological piece and that it has dark powers and if it is not returned, Louis' choice will result in consequences beyond his control. Louis ignores the message and begins playing the game with his slacker friend Bubba and their friends in his college dorm room, however, the game then opens up a portal to an evil realm known as "the In-Between", unleashing numerous demons from the realm into our world, who drag Louis and Bubba through the portal and into the In-Between. Following the incident, Louis' dorm room is condemned by the Police Department and is to never be entered again.

Queue
At the end of the queue right outside the house, guests are given a pair of 3D glasses. They then enter through the giant cover of a comic book called "THE IN-BETWEEN", which depicts Louis being sucked into the portal from his dorm room.
House
The first room in the house is a college dorm room that has been ransacked and covered in glowing symbols. After guests leave a long revolving tunnel, they enter the In Between where neon glowing demons attack from the walls. Some scareactors are disguised as the walls, and often leave guests confused as more glowing demons attack from behind. Entering a crooked hall of see-through glass walls, shining neon lights flash from all around, confusing guests and leave them disoriented as glowing demons attack through the glass. Guests then walk through a large room with vibrating glowing string hanging from the ceiling all around as more demons attack. This leads into another room filled with flashing rune symbols and other 3-D images which distract guests from a blue-outlined creature with glowing orange eyes who will pop out. The final room is the collage dorm room, only it has been completely burnt and Louis and Bubba, all burnt and glowing, would jump out from their beds, screaming in pain. Guests are directed to return their glasses in a bin as they exit.
