History & Location[]
On July 16th, 2025 Universal announced The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane as one of the four scarezones coming to the event. It was an original scarezone centered around an old woman who would feed local trick 'r treaters soup that would transform them into giant cats.
The scarezone was based off a B-movie poster seen in the ending of the Slaughter Sinema 2 haunted house during Halloween Horror Nights 33.
The scarezone would be located in an area called Central Park, a small, wooded area connecting World Expo to Hollywood. There are two paths, one going along the Universal Lagoon and the other going through the trees. The scarezone would be located in the second of these two paths.
This scarezone would win Scarezone of the Year.

Main Article: The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane (Story)
Venture toward the house of “The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane" and enter the pet cemetery as trick-or-treaters warn against approaching her and her rabid children-turned-felines.
“Deep in the forest on Halloween night, the trick-or-treaters follow moon light.
The naughty children that dare to explore, the old Crooked Lane, along the forest floor.
Cat eyes and pumpkins line the dim trail, to the Cat Lady's house, so withered and frail.
The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane stands on her stoop, stirring her cauldron of special soup.
"She's not a witch", the children all say, As she pets her cats of orange, black and gray.
She lifts her ladle and offers a taste. They drink it all down, not a drop goes to waste.
The potion sets in turning hands into claws and long feline teeth protrude from their jaws.
The children all scream as they become beast and now hunt their friends to add to the feast.
The moral of the story, and it should be plain; never trust the Cat Lady of Ol' Crooked Lane.”
Experience[]
Upon entering the scarezone, guests would be greeted by two brick pillars marking the entrance of Crooked Lane, with a wrought iron gate between them. Various children in their best trick-or-treating costumes can be seen strolling down the street. Making their way through Crooked Lane, guests are surrounded by dozens of discarded children's toys and Halloween decorations as jack-o-lanterns hang from the trees, their eerie, glowing faces lighting the way.
As guests continue forward, they can also see life-sized pages describing the story of The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane, complete with illustrations. Legend has it that the old woman who lives in an old house at the end of the lane is really a witch who transforms children into cats, claiming them as her own pets. The legend appears true, as more children can be seen mid-transformation roaming the street, snarling at guests. Before long, more children have completely transformed into cats, some of which are still wearing their clothes when they were human and preying upon those who wander down Crooked Lane.
At the end of the street is The Cat Lady, herself, milling about the porch of her old house, covered with overgrown vines and plants. Occasionally, she remarks about a centuries-old tree she once planted in her garden, visits the grave of one of her previous "pets", and teases and taunts her new ones. She also invites trick-or-treaters to her house and entices them with her transformative potion, which can be viewed by guests through one of the house's windows. Whichever child The Cat Lady doesn't transform, she kills them as food for the cats, instead.
On the right side of the house is a condensed walkway lined by three pairs of wooden sheds. They serve as hiding places for the monstrous cat-children who pop out to jumpscare guests.

Trivia[]
- This would be the second connected spin-off to the Slaughter Sinema 2 haunted house to be featured at Halloween Horror Nights 34. The other was Hatchet and Chains: Demon Bounty Hunters which was a house that same year.
- The scarezone idea was created by Charles Gray.
- The stained-glass windows in the zone featured outlines of cats in them, connecting them to the Conservatory that year (though they originally were installed upside-down before the start of the event).
- Dr. Oddfellow's zodiac symbol could originally be seen etched in red on a crate in the zone, though it was later painted over, possibly to avoid speculation of any would-be story connection.
