Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • John Murdy says the electric chair used in the Shock Therapy scene in this maze (and many mazes since) is an actual movie prop from The Mystery Men. It’s the chair Greg Kinnear’s character Captain Amazing died in.
  • This haunted house bears many similarities with the Halloween Horror Nights Orlando haunted house, Psycho Scareapy. This includes the famous "poo smell".
  • John Murdy could be seen killing his wife on footage that played on a monitor in the security station scene. He smacked her in the face with a shovel and then dragged her body down a long hallway by her shirt collar. He said it gave her horrible carpet burn. She never forgave him.[1]
  • The following year, the maze would be redressed as The Westin Hills Asylum for A Nightmare on Elm Street: Freddy's Nightmare during Halloween Horror Nights 2007 (Hollywood).
