Screamhouse Revisited was one of the six haunted houses that was featured during Halloween Horror Nights 13. It was a sequel to the original Screamhouse from the previous year's event, Halloween Horror Nights: Islands of Fear. It was located in Soundstage 20 along with All Nite Die-In.

History and Location[]

In 2003, Universal decided to revamp a popular house from the previous year: Screamhouse. The house would be titled Screamhouse: Revisited and would feature The Caretaker's burned-down home. The house would largely remain the same, but a few rooms and other things were added.

The house would be one of two located in Soundstage 20 (the closest soundstage to Islands of Adventure), the other one being All Nite Die-In. Guests would enter this house through Seuss Landing. Soundstage 20 is one of the larger soundstage facilities designed to be used as filming locations for movies and television shows. Due to the linear nature of the park, this house was designed to be the sixth and final house guests would enter.

The house would receive a sequel in 2006 titled Screamhouse: The Resurrection.

Description[]

The classic haunted house returns… with a vengeance!  Apparitions of bygone, embalmed creatures, decaying, gory corpses and… Ghosts… await you within… Your only way out is through a derelict and haunted graveyard of monumental mausoleums and desecrated graves. Have you entered the netherworld by some terrible mistake?[1]

Something is drawing you back to this haunted Victorian manor, where ghostly apparitions and gory corpses try to make sure you never leave again.

Queue and Facade[]

Guests would enter the queue in Seuss Landing, in between the One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish ride and the Circus McGurkus restaurant. The line would lead towards to soundstages of Production Central and would eventually reach Soundstage 20, where guests would enter the house. Also, the words "Screamhouse: Revisited" was projected on one of the walls of a soundstage.

Haunted House[]

Like all of the haunted houses in 2003, this house allegedly had 13 scenes.

According to HHN Veteran Legacy from the forums, the house was identical to the 2002 original up to the kitchen scene. The mirror scene ending last year's Screamhouse was one scene cut entirely.[2]

The house was said to look more dilapidated and evil, and would feature embalmed creatures and walking corpses. There were burned rooms and overall the house was said to have been presented in a more terrifying way.

  • According to HHN Veteran Legacy "One night, they were filming the first Grinchmas commercial next to our soundstage, and we ran into a fully-costumed, in character Grinch during our set change. He ran onto the soundstage with us, followed our Baby Pewey, and did a quick scare before leaving."
