Scarecrow: The Reaping is one of the upcoming four haunted houses featured during Universal Horror Unleashed located at Area 15.

History & Location

On October 31st, 2024, Universal Horror Unleashed announced Scarecrow: The Reaping as one of the four haunted houses coming to the Year Round Attraction. The house would based off the Halloween Horror Nights Orlando's Scarecrow: The Reaping (Orlando) haunted house from Halloween Horror Nights 27 and would be brought and revamped as Scarecrow: The Reaping (Hollywood) for Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood for their Halloween Horror Nights 2022 (Hollywood) event.

Description

Scarecrow: The Reaping plunges you into the middle of a dusty nightmare. You’ll explore a farm during the great Midwestern Dust Bowl of the 1930s where horrifying scarecrows come to life to wreak havoc on those who’ve ravaged their land.

Backstory

During the dustbowl on an old farm house in the midwest, the scarecrows that inhabit the farm are wreaking havoc and revenge on the farmers for destroying the land itself.

Trivia

• This house is considered by the team to be bigger and more elaborate than both Orlando and Hollywoods' houses.
• Each house at the event including this one have something called "Memorable Moments" where guests have a small amount of time in the house and actually have the story come to life in that moment, in this house guests would experience the dust storm rolling in.
• Many memorable scenes from both Orlando and Hollywood are featured and some extra added with more immersive feels to them.
• According to Nate Stevenson there will be Holding Rooms that will guests to being given a great chance to actually hear the story of the house. The wind starts to pick up while they're waiting, and a voiceover comes in that starts to really set up the scene and set this environment is being created. So guests go in with a lot more information, and it makes the story more rich and makes the experience more rich.
