Santa Muerte is an idol, male deity, or folk saint in Mexican and Mexican-American folk Catholicism. A personification of death, it is associated with healing, protection, and safe delivery to the afterlife by her devotees. It appeared as a scareactor in the La Llorona: Villa de Almas Perdidas haunted maze during Halloween Horror Nights 2011 (Hollywood).
