|Attraction type||Haunted House|
|Event||Halloween Horror Nights: Sweet 16|
|Park||Universal Studios Florida|

It was a sequel to the past Psycho based houses The Psycho Path Maze and Psycho: Through the Mind of Norman Bates. It was the second Psycho house not to take place in the Bates Motel and Bates Mansion sets, following the demolition of the sets in 1998.
History and Location[edit | edit source]
For their 2006 event, Universal would decide to have all of their haunted houses (and scarezones) be sequels or prequels to landmark houses and scarezones in the past. One of these would be Psycho Path: The Return of Norman Bates, a prequel to both The Psycho Path Maze and Psycho: Through the Mind of Norman Bates. The house would be a spin-off, as it took place in the same world as the movies, but the story was made completely by Universal.
The house would be more similar in style as Psycho: Through the Mind of Norman Bates as it took you through the crazed mind of Norman. The house was the "disorienting house" of that year.
To compensate for the increase in haunted houses since the last time Halloween Horror Nights was in the park, Universal built two hurricane-proof tents behind the World Expo area of the park specifically for holding Halloween Horror Nights haunted houses. This house would be located in the southernmost one (called Sprung Tent 1).

Experience[edit | edit source]
Queue and Facade[edit | edit source]
Guests entered the queue to the right of the entrance for People Under the Stairs: Under Construction. Allegedly, the queue would take guests through the extended queue of the Back to the Future ride, which had queue monitors playing the queue videos for the haunted house, which consisted of various scenes from the Psycho movies. Before entering the house, guests would be greeted with the facade, which was the outside of the Bates Motel complete with the famous sign next to it. Guests would walk up to the porch and enter the front door.
Haunted House[edit | edit source]
After entering the motel, guests would be inside the lobby, where Norman Bates would greet them. After that, guests would enter various offices in the Bates Motel before entering Norman's crazed mind through the revolving tunnel. Guests would enter scenes depicting floating knives and eyeballs, before entering a closet filled with the clothes of Norman Bates' Mother. The final scene of the house represented the shower scene.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- This was the first house located in Sprung Tent 1.
- The Revolving Tunnel (a spinning and disorientating tunnel that guests would walk through) appeared in this house. The effect would later be used in many haunted houses, with the next one being Jack's Funhouse in Clown-O-Vision during Halloween Horror Nights: Carnival of Carnage.
- On the website, the psychiatrist who evaluated Norman was named Grommoll. Grommoll is the name of one of the creatives behind Halloween Horror Nights.
