As our guests enter Pennsylvania Station, they are met by a choice. They can either head upstairs to board one of the Trams to Rockefeller Island or they can try an alternate escape route - through the streets of New York. Based on the Sega Game "Nightmare Creatures" the guests find themselves in a condemned and destroyed area of New York. The Game gives players the opportunity to roam a deserted city combating evil generic mutants and monsters. We recreate the situation utilizing the wonderful scenic design of the Kongfrontation experience, turning our popular attraction into two horrific and thrilling opportunities. Overturned Police Cars. Water effects and Chain-linked Fencing keep our brave guests on a path through the destruction. Through fog and darkness, appear our oversized Creatures. the creation of some Mad Scientist. They grab at us at every opportunity above, the unlucky tram riders come face to face with King Kong.

Ride

Entering through the normal Kongfrontation queue, guests would not be led onto the ride but instead be led into the New York street area beneath the ride. Lurking around every corner were scareactors, some of which were on stilts. There were also many fog machines strewn across the streets. This "haunted attraction" was more like an indoor scarezone than a traditional haunted attraction. King Kong also stood tall above guests.

• This was the first HHN attraction based on a video game.

The theme of Mask of the Phantasm played in the attraction according to this.
