Masquerade: Dance with Death was one of the four scarezones featured during Halloween Horror Nights 34. It was located in Hollywood.
History & Location[]
On July 15th, 2025, Universal announced Masquerade: Dance with Death as one of the four scarezones as coming to the event. The zone would take place in a masquerade ball where all of the partygoers are actually bloodthirsty vampires.
The scarezone would be located in an area called Hollywood, an area of Universal Studios Florida located to the right of the park entrance. It is a recreation of the city of Hollywood (minus the famous sign).
Description[]
You’re invited to a masquerade ball where bloodthirsty vampires lurk behind ornate disguises. When their masks fall, you’ll become their prey.
Dance the night away with vampires at an elaborate masquerade ball where they reveal themselves as they search for their next victims.
Experience[]
On either end of the zone were vine covered metal gates that guests would walk through to enter. Vampires in Victorian-era clothing and masks would roam around the scarezone, sometimes carrying goblets and occasionally attacking guests. A giant stage was erected in the middle of the zone which had a giant chandelier that crashed on it.
There were also four smaller stages scattered about the zone. each with a different creature represented on a large stained glass window. First, the one with the crow featured a hooded vampire consuming a feast on a table consisting of a pig's head, a corpse, various guts, and glasses of blood. The stage with the black cat featured two chairs, one of which had a headless corpse sitting on it. The gargoyle stage featured another masked corpse sitting on a chair and a head impaled on a spike, with its blood draining into wine glasses below it. Finally, the bat stage was covered in vines and had a bloodied corpse propped up in front of it.
Every so often, a mini show moment would play in which a couple of dancers would gather on the center set-piece. A voice tells all of the vampires around them to gather and feed, causing one of the vampires on the stage to take off their mask and bite the neck of the other dancer.
