Jungle of Doom: Expedition Horror was one of the five scarezones that is being featured during Halloween Horror Nights 32. It is located in Central Park. The scarezone was a semi-sequel to the Jungle of Doom haunted house from Halloween Horror Nights 13.
History and Location[]
On July 28th, 2023, Universal announced that a scarezone taking place in a jungle would be featured during Halloween Horror Nights 32. The zone would feature the jungle setting and name of the Jungle of Doom haunted house in 2003, making it a semi-sequel.
Like the rest of the zones that year, this scarezone would tie into the event icon, Dr. Oddfellow. It was in this jungle that Dr. Oddfellow found the skull that would later become a part of his Cane of Souls. It was also in this jungle that Dr. Oddfellow would do experiments on the wildlife using the skull, turning them into abominations.
The scarezone would be located in an area called Central Park, a small, wooded area connecting World Expo to Hollywood. There are two paths, one going along the Universal Lagoon and the other going through the trees. The scarezone would be located in the second of these two paths.
The codenames for the scarezones were vegetables, the codename for this scarezone was Mushroom because mushroom grow in jungles.
Description[]
In the 1920s, Dr. Oddfellow ventured deep into the darkest jungle, performing horrific experiments on nature. Now his monstrous creations are running amok and are coming after you.
Backstory[]
In the 1920s, while searching for ways to bolster his mystic abilities and extend his life, Dr. Oddfellow ventured deep into a cursed jungle, known by superstitious locals as "The Jungle of Doom". There, he discovered a crystal skull in an ancient temple, which granted him powers over living souls, bending them to his will. Using the skull, he twisted the flora and fauna of the jungle, turning them into his own horrid abominations. It is implied that this was the skull that would eventually sit atop his silver Cane of Souls, one of his main sources of power.
Experience[]
Guests walk pass a a temple like stage where Oddfellow as an explorer searches and retrieves the Crystal Skull once holding the item he begins to feel the source of its power and begins gleefully laugh maniacally as he beckons guests to continue forward where they are attacked by Dr. Oddfellow's creations and met with many different traveler crates, on a tree a recent skeletal explorer victim can be seen and even a crashed plane with smoke spilling from the site as guests continue they could see a parachute dangling from the trees above moving forward, they can see a campsite on the right side of them with some little furry creatures being cooked as they move forward they're continuously attacked by more monsters at the end of the zone guests can see above them some fruit bats and a spider can be seen hanging in its web on a tree on their left and on their right a spider can be seen resting on a wall.

- The crashed Universal Airways plane in the zone is the similar plane that can be seen in the Universal Studios Production introductions before every film in the past decades.
- This zone is loosely inspired by The Island of Dr. Moreau film based on the novel by. H.G. Wells known for other novels like The Invisible Man & The War of The Worlds.
- Susan The Spider from the Bugs Eaten Alive haunted house during Halloween Horror Nights 31 appears as one of the static insects on a tree in the zone.
- One night in the zone some of the scareactors were wearing makeup and face paint instead of masks. Allegedly they were having some health concerns related to the masks/gloves…
