History and Location[edit | edit source]
In 2007, Universal decided to give a haunted house to the icon of their Halloween Horror Nights: Carnival of Carnage event, Jack the Clown. They decided to make his house a 3-D house, an idea that had been used last in 2003's Funhouse of Fear. The house would feature a funhouse filled with colorful clowns that Jack created.
In 2006, Universal built two hurricane-proof tents behind the World Expo area of the park specifically for holding Halloween Horror Nights haunted houses. This house would be located in the northernmost one (called Sprung Tent 2).
Description[edit | edit source]
This Jack'd up funhouse comes at you with more crazed, colorful clowns that you can shake a kid at.
This Jack'd up funhouse plunges you laughing and screaming into an oversaturated world of color that leaps at you with more crazed clowns than you can shake a kid at. Before its over- you will know Jack!
Website[edit | edit source]
On the Halloween Horror Nights: Carnival of Carnage website, guests could click on the attraction page for this haunted house. There, Jack would occasionally pop up where the description of the house should be. After clicking on an entry ticket, guests would be taken to the backstory page for the house.
On the backstory page, guests could click on and view six cards with 3D images on them. A seventh card would tell visitors to bring back their 3D glasses from the event and view the cards to see them in 3D.
On the carnival page, guests could click on a funhouse tent to see a series of pumps, each labeled with a color. Guests would have to mix the right colors together for Jack's makeup to see a preview video for the house. They could use a color wheel in Jack's bus as a hint. The answer is shown in the images below. There was also a map with Coney Island circled in Jack's bus.

Experience[edit | edit source]
Queue and Facade[edit | edit source]
The queue entrance was located to the right of the Men in Black restrooms. It went down a road that led to the front of Sprung Tent 2 where it would then continuously loop around the side of the Men in Black building. Somewhere in the queue, guests were given 3D glasses with seemingly two different varieties: Plain Black, or Painted Like Jack with "Halloween Horror Nights" written in white text.
The queue contained various over-sized Jack-in-the-Boxes, Jack's Fortune Telling tent, and banners advertising various carnival freaks. At the end of the queue laid a huge replica of Jack's head, and guests entered the house through his mouth.
Haunted House[edit | edit source]
The haunted house consisted of various disorientating rooms that could normally be seen in a funhouse. The scareactors mostly consisted of clowns in bright costumes. There was also a room with black walls and scareactors who would blend into them.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- At the Horrorwood Die-In from Halloween Horror Nights: Ripped from the Silver Screen, there was a poster advertising a funhouse that looked similar to the exterior of Jack's Funhouse.
- The astronaut clowns suit would later be reused in the haunted house Penn & Teller: New(kd) Vegas in 2012.
- According to this, on the wall of the Alien and Astronaut room, were Kang and Kodos from The Simpsons.
- The Revolving Tunnel (a spinning and disorientating tunnel that guests would walk through) appeared in this house. The effect would later be used in a several more haunted houses, with the next one being Interstellar Terror during Halloween Horror Nights: Reflections of Fear.
