Insidious: The Further was one of the ten haunted houses that was featured during Halloween Horror Nights 33. It was located in Soundstage 24. The house would be based on the Insidious (Franchise).
History and Location[]
Universal announced that a haunted house based on the Insidious would be featured at their Halloween Horror Nights event that year. The house would take guests through many of the scenes from the Insidious films.
The house will be located in Soundstage 24.
The codename for the haunted house was “Pudding,” because walking into the Further can be murky and thick like Pudding.
The haunted house would win House of the Year.

Haunted House[]
Once inside, guests turn left and continue down a passage. Banners hang from above, depicting the unfolding narrative in Dalton's drawings from three films. The first banner is from the first film in the series in which in his dreams he could fly and do anything. The second banner depicted one of his paintings of his father and the Lipstick Face Demon lurking behind him. The third and final banner depicts his father possessed by Parker Crane in the second Insidious film. Fans of the series will remember this painting from the newest installment, Insidious Red Door. As guests continue, they enter through a giant size Red Door entering The Further. All while hearing Elise Rainer’s voice encouraging them onward, and with guests turning right.
As Guests continue into Lambert's Residence where the Long Haired Fiend can be seen pacing on the right side of the porch, waiting to break in, he notices guests as they walk onto the porch and lunges at them. On the left, House Mom can be seen staring at guests through a window, waiting for them to come in.
Guests enter the Lambert Residence and in the front hall of the house on their left they are attacked by the House Mom. As they continue forward a wall scare by the grandfather clock reveals the visage of The Bride In Black growling at them.
Guests enter into the next room as they are attacked by a beastly looking Long Haired Fiend with his tongue sticking out on their left, they continue forward as they enter the next room. This room became infamous as the Terrifying Spirit room. Guests find themselves surrounded by vengeful spirits. Some are still, while a few Further Ghouls lunge at them on their right, when they enter into the room, and on their left as they rush into the next room.
Guests enter the next room where ahead are static figures of some further ghosts but the Bride In Black can be seen grinning as she lunges at you and goes back as guests make a right. Michelle Crane pops out wielding a knife on the right. Guests then turn left only to be lunged at by the Bride in Black again.
Guests enter another hallway on their right where they are attacked on both sides by The Bride In Black as they continue forward into the next hallway where the wall near by reveals the grinning Bride In Black static figure growling. As guests continue forward The Bride In Black pops out a curtain in front of them as they make a right into the next room.
After that, guests enter a red door into a derelict room with a hospital gurney bed as they continue further into the next room. They are met with The Man Who Can't Breathe who pulls back a hospital curtain fast and reaches for you. You continue past him and go through a curtain. Sitting on a table in front of you is The Man Who Can't Breathe again as he lunges at guests and then goes back to caresses the hair of the prisoned and possessed Quinn Brenner next to him.
Guests enter into the next room where they enter a hallway of red doors as they continue in there are two open slightly on either side before exit the room, Anna pops out of the right one at guests before they exit the room.
Guests then are then hit with a circular flash bulb before they made a right into a hallway of cells, as they continue, they are lunge by Anna on their right as on their left the hanging body of Audrey Rainer could be seen and heard gasping. As they continue into the next room they are attacked by Keyface on their left. As guests make a right as Gerald Rainer could be seen sitting in a chair in a cell on their left watching tv serving as a distraction for Keyface to lunge at guests from out of a cell on their right.
Guests then enter into a hallway where above the static figure of the Disgusting Puking Ghost could be seen spewing water down on guests as they make a right into a hallway and through curtains where guests are surrounded by more static figures of further ghosts. Anna, disguised as a mannequin, scares guests on the right and on their left guests are lunged at by Ducky Boy as they exit the room.
Guests then enter into a red curtain hallway where they are attacked by multiple Red Lipstick Face Demons on their right and left as they enter into a open room of The Red Lipstick Face. You watch the Red Lipstick Face Demon leave his lair and pop out in front of you, leave, and teleport to your right popping out of a curtain swiping at you.
Guests enter into a hallway and into the next room where they are in the Lambert's attic. As they enter in The Red Lipstick Face Demon could be seen at the end of the hall ready to pounce. Depending on what time you entered you had a slightly different ending. One ending had The Man Who Can't Breathe pop out on your left while another had Keyface attack you on your left. Once you got through one of them you are caught by surprised by The Bride In Black on your right and jumped at by the Red Lipstick Face Demon at the finale as you make a right and out of the house for one last lunge by The Red Lipstick Demon before exiting out of the soundstage.

- In the house announcement trailer, the metronome that is seen and heard is what is used to help Josh Lambert to traverse into The Further.
- The metronome that is used to help Dalton and Josh Lambert forget the demons and further can be seen in the hallway on a table before entering the next room.
- The house includes the Gromoll scare which the effect is a nod to Kim Gromoll, a former Universal and Halloween Horror Nights creative alumni who had created it.
- The Runner static figure from The Last of Us haunted house from the previous year at Halloween Horror Nights 32 is reused for the Possessed Dalton that is not looking at guests in his dorm room scene.
- Jason’s jacket from Stranger Things 4 could be seen hanging up in Dalton’s dorm room, hidden with all the other clothes.
- During the Bride of Black's curtain scares, some of the curtains of the photos Young Josh Lambert mother had hid away from Josh for many afraid of taking his picture believing that The Bride In Black would possess and kill them.
- Some of the costumes used in this house were recycled from the two previous houses themed to Insidious at Halloween Horror Nights Orlando, including Insidious (2015) and The Horrors of Blumhouse (2017).
- Each house would have a dessert hidden in the house based on their code names, this codename for the house is Pudding. The Pudding could be found on a dresser of the baby's nursery room.
- This years' easter egg alongside the desserts are Snails, the snail in this house could be found on the left side of the porch of the facade of the house on one of the bars of the under the stringer of the house.
- The house was given house of the week during the opening week of the event, before later winning House of the Year for the season.
- The red curtains in The Red Lipstick Demon Lair were reused from the Universal Monsters: Unmasked haunted house during Halloween Horror Nights 32.
