Horrors of Halloween was one of the five scarezones featured during Halloween Horror Nights 31. It was located in Plaza of the Stars and would serve as the icon scarezone for the Pumpkin Lord.

History and Location[]

On August 16th, 2022, Universal announced that the Pumpkin Lord (from the previous year's The Wicked Growth: Realm of the Pumpkin house) would take over their Halloween Horror Nights event that year, turning the entire park into a traditional Halloween nightmare. They announced that he would have his own icon scarezone in the front of the park. In the zone, he would unleash all of the creatures of traditional Halloween unto guests.

It would be located in an area called Plaza of the Stars. The area is a street located in front of the entrance of the park.

Description[]

The Pumpkin Lord, the spirit of Halloween, has taken over this year’s event, summoning hordes of fiendish creatures. Terror has taken root.

Story[]

The Pumpkin Lord has become even more powerful due to all of the followers he has gained the previous year. He used this power to take over the scarezone and spread his vines and pumpkins everywhere. He sat in this zone and interacted with guests as they walked by. He will summon creatures from the other scarezones that year into his scarezone, including Scarecrows and Witches.

Scarezone[]

The Pumpkin Lord would sit in a large pumpkin at the entrance to the scarezone interacting with guests. Behind him, a large truss system was erected over the entire scarezone, with vines and glowing jack 'o lanterns covering it. The words "Halloween Horror Nights" were also written at the top.

Scattered around the zone, various platforms each themed to the other four scarezones were scattered about. Scareactors themed to the other four scarezones as well as those themed to pumpkins roamed about in the streets. VInes and jack 'o lantern faces were also projected on the walls of the surrounding buildings.

Trivia[]

  • The Lil' Boo pumpkin hung above among the other pumpkins. This was similar to how it was hanging with many of the pumpkins in the portal for The Wicked Growth: Realm of the Pumpkin haunted house during Halloween Horror Nights 31.
  • A Lil' Boo drawing appears on one of the trick or treat bags featured in the zone.
  • This zone features representations of the other four scarezones:
    • Graveyard gates with pumpkins above dirt, a skeleton buried underneath, and a buried gravestone for Graveyard: Deadly Unrest.
    • A cauldron, witch hat, a witch's broomstick, some bottles of brews, and a voodoo doll for Conjure the Dark.
    • A scarecrow above some hay, a crow, another buried within the Pumpkin Lord's roots, a buried scarecrow hand, and some corn for Scarecrow: Cursed Soil.
    • Lollipops. some candy jars, vintage trick or treat masks, a bloody hatchet, and trick or treat bags for Sweet Revenge.
  • The Pumpkin Lord would burp on guests, spraying them with water.
