Information Timeline[]

  • April 4, 2024: Universal revealed dates of the event and single ticket prices alongside Unmasking the Horror Tour and RIP Tour tickets and teaser video revealing a steel door in a static clip and event slogan and promotional merchandise.
  • May 10, 2024: Social media influencers were sent a video of a woman who had snuck underground of Universal Orlando Resort and warns many viewers that she has heard something dangerous underneath before briefly interrupted someone on camera who's trying to capture them. The video would be released on the HHN social medias.
  • May 13, 2024: A video of a passerby in the park captures footage of weird screams and odd sounds coming out of a nearby sewer grate.
  • May 14, 2024: Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood release a promotional video called "Fear Cannot Be Contained" which features a dark entity releasing out of the contained room.
  • May 15, 2024: Universal announces a panel being held at Spooky Empire in the Keys Ballroom, hosted by members of the Creative Team for this year’s event.
  • May 17, 2024: The HHN panel in Spooky Empire announced Slaughter Sinema 2, a sequel of Slaughter Sinema and even previewed one of the scareactors in the house.
  • May 20, 2024: Universal announced the second original haunted house Goblin’s Feast was coming to the event.
  • May 21, 2024: Universal announced the third original haunted house Major Sweets Candy Factory was coming to the event.
  • May 22, 2024: Universal announced The Museum: Deadly Exhibit as the next original haunted house coming to event.
  • May 23, 2024: Universal announced Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America (Orlando) as the next original haunted house coming to the event.
  • May 24th, 2024: Universal announced Triplets of Terror as the final original haunted house coming to the event.
  • May 30th, 2024: Universal announced a premium scream ticket limited to certain amount people would release on June 6h ensuring guest an exclusive night with no lines and an early entry along with free food a day before the opening night.
  • On June 6th, 2024: Halloween Horror Nights Premium Scream Ticket goes live and A Quiet Place is announced as the first IP haunted house coming to the event.
  • On June 27, 2024 Universal announced Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (Orlando) as the next haunted house coming to the event.
  • On July 11, 2024 Universal announced and release the multi-pass tickets for the event and Insidious: The Further is announced as the third IP coming to the event.
  • On July 15th, 2024: Universal announced Torture Faire as one of the five scare zones coming to the event. On July 16th, 2024: Universal announced Swamp of The Undead as second scare zone coming to the event.
  • On July 24th, 2024: Universal announced Duality of Fear and Demon Queens as two of the scarezones coming to the event.
  • On July 25th, 2024: Universal announced Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines (Orlando) as the final haunted house coming to the event.
  • On August 7th, 2024: Universal announced Enter the Blumhouse as the final scarezone coming to the event.
  • On September 26th, 2024: Universal would announced that the event would be canceled that day due to the events of Hurricane Helene setting to hit Florida.
  • On October 9th, Universal would announce the cancellation of the event nights for October 9th and 10th due to the events of Hurricane Milton setting to hit Florida.

Event Backstory[]

For 33 years, the screams of thousands of eager Halloween Horror Nights guests have been collected within the shadowy depths of Universal Orlando Resort. With each year that went by came a new set of frights for our guests to indulge.

All the while, their wails of terror festered beneath the billow fog up on the surface, forming a monstrous manifestation of the horror that lives within their hearts. An evil overgrowth that would spread its hellish grasp throughout every crevice of the park’s underbelly.

As the overgrowth expanded in size, its beating heart ripped a tear between our world and the vast universe of horrors that exists beyond our own; the never-ending void in which fear derives from.

Within that universe are two distinct realms – One fueled by physical pain while the other is plagued by psychological torment. At the helm of these worlds are two entities, SINIST3R and SURR3AL, who each embody the hellscapes they stand guard for.

  • Slaughter Sinema 2 (Sprung Tent 2) - If you’re dying for a B-movie horror marathon, head to the Carey Drive-in. Scream through scenes from creature features, grindhouse gore, spaghetti westerns and more.
  • Goblin’s Feast (Sprung Tent 4) - Visit a goblin village, where hordes of bloodthirsty goblins, orcs, hobgoblins and witches would love to have you for dinner.
  • Major Sweets Candy Factory (Fast & Furious Location) - You’ve been invited to chaperone a field trip to a candy factory. But this sweet tour is about to turn sour when free samples transform the kids into candy-coated killers wielding sharpened candies.
  • The Museum: Deadly Exhibit (Sprung Tent 1) - You decide to visit the new folklore museum exhibit, The Rotting Stone, when an evil escapes from within, destroying everything in its path.
  • Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America (Orlando) (Soundstage 23) - ¡Ten cuídado! With La Muerte as your guide, you’ll be asking for mercy from these three terrifying monsters: the blood-sucking Tlahuelpuchi, owl-faced witch La Lechuza and bone-ripping El Silbón.
  • Triplets of Terror (Soundstage 24) - You’re invited to the Barmy triplets’ birthday bash. But beware, they celebrate by recreating their family’s murders. Prepare for a gory gathering.
  • A Quiet Place (Orlando 2024) (Soundstage 22) - Silence your screams if you want to survive this terrifying, post-apocalyptic world based on the films “A Quiet Place” and “A Quiet Place Part II.” Like the Abbott family, you must keep quiet as you travel from the farmhouse, to the woods, to the foundry. As soon as you make a sound, monstrous creatures who can hear the slightest noise will hunt you down and silence you for good.
  • Ghostbusters Frozen Empire (Orlando) (Soundstage 23) - In this bone-chilling haunted house inspired by the film “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” the Ghostbusters must team up to save the world from a second Ice Age. A new specter, Garraka, has escaped from an ancient artifact. He’ll stop you cold with a whole army of ghosts. Try not to freeze in fear as you dodge spears of ice and he freezes people solid before your eyes.
  • Insidious: The Further (Orlando) (Soundstage 24) - Don’t get trapped in The Further as terrifying demons try to ensnare you. The Red-Faced Demon will lure you into his lair behind The Red Door, so he can possess your living body. And KeyFace will unlock your fears with his key-tipped fingers to keep your soul trapped in The Further forever.
  • Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines (Orlando) (Sprung Tent 3) - Join Saskia Van Helsing and the Bride of Frankenstein as they face off against Dracula's Daughter and her monstrous alliance

  • Duality of Fear (Front Lot) - As soon as you enter Halloween Horror Nights you must choose a path: the visceral horror of SINIST3R or the unearthly terror of SURR3AL.
  • Demon Queens (Hollywood) - Get caught in an otherworldly hellscape ripped from the darkest corners of your mind, where four merciless queens loyal to SURR3AL rule.
  • Swamp of The Undead (Central Park) - In backwaters Louisiana, you’re about to be swamped by zombies borne from the bodies of trespassers killed and dumped in a nearby bog.
  • Torture Faire (New York) - Come one, come all, to the renaissance faire. Brave the gloriously gory medieval torture devices ‘til you’re put out of your misery.
  • Enter the Blumhouse (San Francisco) - Run a terrifying gauntlet of Blumhouse characters. From The Grabber to M3GAN dancing into your nightmares, this is a new kind of horror.

  • This is the earliest Halloween Horror Nights has ever started, with the event beginning August 30.
  • Blood & Chum section of the house is inspired by general b-movies about Shark attacks even taken influence most famously from the film Jaws (1975).
  • Dr McSpooky, though not an official HHN icon as of yet, is still an icon within his own right.
  • This is the first time the event has had dual Icons.
  • This is the first year since 2021 the Never Go Alone tagline was not used.
  • This is the first year that two hurricanes had cost the event to cancel some event nights.
