Halloween (Orlando 2022) was one of ten haunted houses that were featured at Halloween Horror Nights 31. It was located in Soundstage 23 along with Hellblock Horror, and would be based on the original 1978 movie.

History and Location[]

On June 8th, 2022, Universal announced that another haunted house based on the classic 1978 Halloween movie would be coming to their Halloween Horror Nights event that year. The house would be similar to the 2014 haunted house and focus on Michael Myers's first killing spree in Haddonfield. It would also tie into the event's overall theme of traditional Halloween.

The house would be one of two located in Soundstage 23, the other being Hellblock Horror. Soundstage 23 is one of the larger soundstage facilities designed to be used as filming locations for movies and television shows.

The codename for the house was Razor meaning the razor blade of a butcher knife that was Michael Myer's weapon of choice.

Experience[]

Queue[]

Guests entered the line through the Jimmy Fallon ride queue. Guests would walk down the hallway with the history of the NBC logo before reaching the area where the regular and express lines split. Guests would then make their way to the left side of Soundstage 24 where the queue would loop a few times. They would then turn left to go behind Soundstage 23. The queue loops one last time as guests enter the soundstage from the back.

Haunted House[]

Guests enter Soundstage 23 and walk straight into Michael Myers's bedroom. Guests could hear Judith Myers calling out to Michael as they continue into the next room. In Judith Myers's bedroom, guests would find her corpse laying on the floor. Young Michael Myers would jump out at guests from behind their bed as they quickly left the room.

Entering the next scene, guests would find themselves in a darkened space with the Halloween theme playing. Above them on a screen projection was the Halloween title card. One of the walls would disappear and Michael Myers would attack from behind it.

Guests would find themselves outside of the Smith's Grove Sanitarium as Marion Chambers screams on their left. Guests went forward toward the side of the building with a fence on their left. Behind the fence, guests could see multiple escaped mental patients, two of which would bang on the fence. As guests walked towards the side entrance, Samuel Loomis would come rushing out asking for Michael Myers before stepping back.

As guests step past the building, they found themselves walking through a neighborhood in Haddonfield, Illinois. Michael Myers could be seen far away behind a hedge but would jump out right next to guests giving them a good scare. Eventually, guests would find themselves in front of the Myers house, where Michael would attack from the left. Guests walked around the side of the house and through an alley of white sheets, where Michael Myers attacked from a broken window on their left and in front of them.

Guests then turned and entered the house, where they find themselves in the kitchen. On their right, guests could see Bob pinned onto the door with a knife. Michael Myers could also be seen looking up at the corpse as he tilted his head. He would also rush at guests for a quick scare. Leaving the kitchen, guests would enter the Wallace's bedroom where Michael Myers wearing a bedsheet could be seen strangling Lynda Van Der Klok while being covered in a sheet. Laying on the bead was the corpse of Annie Brackett with Judith Myers's tomb placed above her on the bed. A panel would also drop in this room revealing the hanging body of Bob. As guests exited the bedroom, they were attacked by Michael on their right covered in a bed sheet.

Guests then turn left to another hallway which led to the foyer. Michael Myers could be seen on the right standing atop a large staircase holding a knife. This would be a distraction as another Michael Myers would jump out from a door on the left. Guests then enter another hallway which led into the Wallace's living room, where Laurie Strode can be seen holding a spike. Michael Myers would then jump out from behind a curtain and lunge at guests next to the couch. Another hallway would lead guests into the closet scene, where Michael Myers attacked them on their left and Laurie Strode attacked with a coat hanger on the right.

As guests continued forward, they were caught between a silhouette of Dr. Loomis shooting Michael Myers. Entering the finale of the house, guests would find themselves a mirror room with pumpkins hanging from the ceiling. The room was filled with Michael Myers, three of which were real and would stab at guests. As guests exited the house, they would be attacked by one final Michael Myers.

Quotes[]

  • "Michael!?" - Judith Myers
  • "I met him, fifteen years ago. I was told there was nothing left. No reason, no, uh, conscience, no understanding in even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, of good or evil, right or wrong. I met this six-year-old child, with this blank, pale, emotionless face and, the blackest eyes, the Devil's Eyes! I spent eight years trying to reach him, and then another seven trying to keep him locked up because I realized what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply Evil." - Samuel Loomis
  • "He's gone! He's gone from here! The Evil is gone!" - Samuel Loomis
  • "He came home." - Samuel Loomis
  • "Hey Lonnie, get your ass away from there." - Samuel Loomis
  • “Straight up the stairs and lock the door! Do as I say! Hurry!” - Laurie Strode
  • "He's gonna get you! (4x). The Boogeyman is coming!" - Richie
