Friday the 13th: Camp Blood
Attraction type Haunted House
Event Halloween Horror Nights: Carnival of Carnage
Park Universal Studios Florida
Area Amity
Year 2007
Housed in JAWS Queue
Based on Friday the 13th Franchise (1980-2001)

Friday the 13th: Camp Blood was one of the eight haunted houses that were featured during Halloween Horror Nights: Carnival of Carnage. It was located in the JAWS Queue. The setting was Crystal Lake during the third film, but Uber Jason from Jason X, Jason's mother Mrs. Voorhees from the first movie, and Jason from Part 2 (in which he wore a burlap sack on his head instead of a hockey mask) made appearances as scareactors.

History and Location[]

In 2007, Universal made a deal with New Line Cinema to bring three of their most famous horror movie monsters to their Halloween Horror Nights event. One of these monsters was Jason Voorhees. For his house, Universal decided to make his house tie-in to the entire franchise. The setting was the camp from Friday the 13th Part II and the house would feature all of the incarnations of Jason and even his mother. The house would be titled Friday the 13th: Camp Blood.

The house was located in the extended queue for the JAWS ride, making it the fourth haunted house in this location. Jason Voorhees would not return at Halloween Horror Nights Orlando until the Freddy vs. Jason house in 2015.

Description[]

A hazing of new Camp Counselors in a barn at Camp Crystal Lake turns into a bloodbath when Jason Voorhees returns.

The new Camp Packanack has been built on the site of Camp Crystal Lake. Now, on Friday the 13th, new camp counselors must enter the old barn where dusty artifacts of "Camp Blood" are stored. But hazing turns into a bloodbath when Jason Voorhees returns.

Website[]

On the Halloween Horror Nights: Carnival of Carnage website, guests could click on the attraction page for this haunted house. There, Jack would occasionally pop up where the description of the house should be. After clicking on an entry ticket, guests would be taken to the backstory page for the house.

On the backstory page, guests would be inside of a cabin, where they could see a corpse on the floor with a machete lodged in his back. Clicking on the machete would cause a short video to play in which you can see Jason stabbing him repeatedly in the back with it (using footage of Trey's kill from Freddy vs. Jason). Visitors could also click on a folder and three papers within the folder to read about the schedule of Camp Packanack and the rules to being a counselor there. Finally, guests could click on a radio to head a broadcast about the reopening of Camp Packanack on Crystal Lake and an interview with the head counselor.

On the carnival page, guests could click on a Knife Throwing Wheel to see a job application form for Camp Crystal Lake. Guests would need to figure out what to put in the job application in order to see a secret video about the house. The answers are Pamela, Voorhees, Blairstown, New Jersey, and Cook. In Jack's bus, there was a hint to the puzzle in the form of a newspaper, which detailed the events pf the first Friday the 13th movie. Guests could also see the town of Blairstown circled on a map, a newspaper article regarding the drowning of Jason Voorhees, a bloody arrow, a map of Camp Crystal Lake, and a picture of Pamela Voorhees titled "Mother".

Queue and Facade[]

Guests would enter the queue next to the entrance to the JAWS ride. The queue would loop around a few times under a sign that said "Camp Packanack On Crystal Lake. Grand Opening Friday, July 13th". The end of the queue brought guests past a blood stained Crystal Lake bus. Guests entered the house through the camp's boathouse.

Haunted House[]

The house featured many famous scenes from the Friday the 13th franchise. It included a "live" decapitation and a trip to the shrine to Jason's mother. At the end, guests would be splashed by blood (water). According to this, there was also a scene with Jason standing above guests. He would pull a cord that would smash two drums hanging from the ceiling, making a loud noise.
