The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was one of the haunted mazes that were featured at Halloween Horror Nights 2021 (Hollywood). It was located in the Mummy Queue.
Description[]
You’ve seen the 1974 horror classic. Now It’s your turn to experience it for yourself. Enter the dilapidated Sawyer house and meet Leatherface and his demented family of merciless butchers. Will you make it out in one piece? Or in pieces?
You've Seen the Movie. Now Live the Massacre.
Step into the dilapidated Texas home of the depraved, sadistic Sawyer family who welcome you with razor-sharp blades and a roaring chainsaw. Will you make it out in one piece? Or in pieces?
Experience[]
Facade[]
The facade was the Sawyer House surrounded by fences and foliage. Outside was Nubbins Sawyer interacting with guests. Guests would then enter the maze.
Haunted Maze[]
Guests entered the foyer of the house while walking through animal pelts hanging down. Next to a steel door was the lifeless body of Kirkland as Leatherface would then open the door and pop out with a sledgehammer and then shut the door.
Guests then went into the sitting room covered in chicken feathers as Leatherface would pop out from a door panel with a sledgehammer. Guests would then go down a hallway with windows and clothes hanging down.
Guests would then enter the attic where Grandma Sawyer and Grandpa Sawyer are. Grandpa Sawyer would pop out at guests from his chair with a hammer as Leatherface would come at guests with with Chainsaw from in between Grandma and Grandpa.
Guests would then head down a hallway with skin pelts on the walls and head into the sewing room where Leatherface was sewing together a new mask and would pop out at guests.
Guests would then enter the kitchen and see Pamela Jones as a static figure inside the freezer and hanging on the meathook trying to move. Leatherface would pop out behind a table with his chainsaw at guests and then would bury the chainsaw into Kirkland on the table.
Guests would then enter the dinner table scene where Nubbins, Drayton Sawyer, Grandpa were. All of them sitting at the table as Grandpa Sawyer is attempting to wack a static figure of Sally Hardesty with his hammer as Drayton and Nubbins cheers him on. Leatherface would then pop out from the other side of the room with his chainsaw.
Guests would then enter a room with Leatherface in a chair rocking back and forth and then would be scared from Nubbins Sawyer from behind a window. Guests would then enter a black hallway.
Guests would then enter the outside of the gas station where Leatherface would pop out from the left before they entered. Drayton Sawyer would scare guests from behind a window immediately when they entered. A static figure of Sally with a bag on her head could be seen and Leatherface could be seen cutting off the face of a static figure as he then attempts to wear the face.
Guests then enter the outside woods where Leatherface then pops out burying his chainsaw through a static figure of Franklin Hardesty. Guests would then enter the graveyard where Nubbins Sawyer would pop out of the crypt behind glass and then Leatherface would pop out on the other side.
Guests would then enter a black Hallway with one last Leatherface scare before exiting the maze as "Deep in the Heart of Texas" plays.

A second body was found in a ditch near the perimeter of the cemetery. Subsequent investigation has revealed at least a dozen empty crypts. And it's feared more will turn up as the probe continues. Deputies report that, in some instances, only parts of a corpse had been removed. The head, or in some cases, the extremities removed, the remainder of the corpse left intact. Evidence indicates the robberies have occurred over a period of time. Sheriff Jesus Maldinado refused to give details in the ghoulish case and said only that he did have strong evidence linking the crime to elements outside the state. Area residents have reportedly converged on the cemetery fearing the remains of relatives have been removed. No suspects are in custody as the investigation at the scene continues." - Radio Narrator

- This maze replaced another maze and was originally not slated to happen [1].
- This is the 6th Time that The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Franchise) has appeared at Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood as a maze/in a maze. This is the 2nd time that the 1974 film has been at the event with the 1st being The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Saw is the Law.
- This was planned to be the password maze but due to COVID it was cut [2].
- There was planned barbecue scents for the maze but in the maze there was no barbecue scents [3].
- All of the Leatherface sound effects are from the popular horror video game, Dead by Daylight [4].
- The facade had a pre-show with the hitchhiker greeting guests and recreating the van monologue [5].
- The facade also had bones hanging to the right of it as a reference to when the hitchhiker hangs bones up at Franklin's dad's house.
- Right next to the steel door scene, guests can spot a static figure of Kirk on the ground.
- Compared to the 2012 house, there is more of a build to the 1st chainsaw scare which doesn't happen till the attic scene versus the living room in the 2012 version.
- Leatherface's trigger in the attic is from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2" when Leatherface attacks Stretch in the radio station [6].
- Compared to the 2012 house, they gave Leatherface 2 triggers for the kitchen scene. One to go towards guests and another to bury his chainsaw into Kirk.
- In the kitchen, guests can spot a bunch of dirty dishes right by Leatherface.
- In the klitchen scene, guests can hear Pam gurgling blood which is a possible reference to the original script where it mentions "she tries to scream but her throat fills with blood and she chokes and gags" [7].
- There were 3 additional skeletons in the dinner table scene which are meant to be Jerry, Pam, and Kirk.
- They changed the Dinner Table Scene to be more about Grandpa getting ready to hit Sally compared to the 2012 iteration.
- The Soda Pop advertisement out in front of the gas station is reused from House of 1000 Corpses.
- Outside and inside the gas station there are 2 tributes to Derek such as the honey jars in the gas station and rabbit logo on the gas pumps [8].
- In the gas station, guests can see Sally Hardesty tied up with a bag over her head in a chair.
- This maze had a new variation on Franklin Hardesty's death [9].
- "Deep in the Heart of Texas" plays at the end of this maze as a tribute to a dear friend of the USH Team named Derek. He supervised The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Blood Brothers and hyped up that cast with the song [10].
