Treaks and Foons was one of the six scarezones that was featured during Halloween Horror Nights: Islands of Fear. It was located in Toon Lagoon.
History and Location[]
In 2002, when Cindy was planned to be the icon, there was going to be a scarezone called Twisted Toons. The scarezone would feature foam-filled streets and would have distorted cartoon scareactors called Treaks (Females) and Foons (Males). They would play pranks on guests by holding certain props, like whoopie cushions or water-spitting flowers.
The scarezone would be located in Toon Lagoon, an area of the park in between Marvel Super Hero Island and Jurassic Park. Toon Lagoon featured an homage to many comic book characters, including Popeye and Dudley Do-Right. Due to the linear nature of Islands of Adventure, this was planned to be the third scarezone guests would walk into. After Cindy was scrapped as the icon, the scarezone's name changed to Treaks and Foons. Other than the name, the scarezone would largely stay the same.
The Treaks and Foons would reappear in the 2003 haunted house Funhouse of Fear, as well as the 2004 haunted house Disorientorium. After backlash for the lack of content in the Midway of the Bizarre in 2007, they made a scarezone featuring the Treaks and Foons. A tribute scene to this scarezone appeared in the 2010 anniversary haunted house titled Horror Nights: The Hallow'd Past. Additionally, this zone was featured as a "film set" in the Halloween Horror Nights 30 scarezone, Lights Camera Hacktion: Eddie's Revenge.
Description[]
The joke's on you as you cross a weird, maddening landscape populated by disturbing, cartoonish freaks whose idea of fun is scaring you silly.
Experience[]
Guests walked though foam where exaggerated clown-like cartoon characters, who were none other than the titular Treaks (females) and Foons (males), would pop out and either scare or play and dance with them. Some of the Treaks and Foons would carry Halloween buckets, presumably for collecting candy. The Treaks and Foons also had springs on their shoes to make them jump high. Many also had more than one face. The scarezone was mostly lit by a deep purple light.
The streets were lined with foam and bubbles flew overhead. A green light effect would also shine over the heads of guests. Carnival music (such as Carnival of Souls by Verne Langdon) would play throughout the scarezone, occasionally interrupted by "rude noises" such as burps and other cartoonish sounds. There was an alternate path guests could take through the shops if they didn't want to encounter foam.

- A scene from this scarezone was used in the Halloween Horror Nights: Twenty Years of Fear haunted house, Horror Nights: The Hallow'd Past.
- Additionally, this zone was featured as a "film set" in the Halloween Horror Nights 30 scarezone, Lights Camera Hacktion: Eddie's Revenge.
- If you switch the first letters of Treaks and Foons you get the words Freaks and Toons. This shows a possible origin of the name "Treaks and Foons".
- This was the first scarezone located in Toon Lagoon.
- The original concept of this scarezone titled "Twisted Toons" seemed largely the same. Some things the original concept mentioned that are of note included balloons being used all over the streets and the Treaks and Foons holding treats (gags such as whoopie cushions) that they would offer to guests. It is unknown whether either of these made it into the final scarezone.
- The original concept also provides a backstory to the Treaks and Foons, in which they were genetically mutated to smile all the time and that they were neutered (and not happy about it).
