Insidious (Haunted House) was one of the nine haunted houses that were featured during Halloween Horror Nights 25. It was located in Sprung Tent 2. This house was based off of the first three Insidious movies.
History and Location[]
On July 16th, 2015, Universal announced that a haunted house based on the Insidious franchise would be coming to their Halloween Horror Nights event that year. The house would feature many key scenes from the first 3 Insidious movies. The codename for this house was "Beyond", as the Further is Beyond our world.
In 2006, Universal built two hurricane-proof tents behind the World Expo area of the park specifically for holding Halloween Horror Nights haunted houses. This house would be located in the northernmost one (called Sprung Tent 2).
Insidious would return in The Horrors of Blumhouse haunted house during Halloween Horror Nights 27.
Description[]
Enter “The Further” and travel through all three parts of the Insidious saga. Denizens of the afterlife try to find their way back into the world using the living to guide them. The house isn't haunted--we are.
Experience[]
Queue and Facade[]
The queue entrance was located to the right of the Men in Black restrooms. It went down a road that led to the front of Sprung Tent 2 where it would then continuously loop around the side of the Men in Black building. Eventually guests would reach the facade, which was the Smith Estate from Insidious 2. Guests would then enter the house from the side of the Sprung.
Haunted House[]
Guests entered into Dalton's Bedroom where there were camera flashes as the Lipstick Face Demon popped out at guests. Guests then entered the Living Room where one of the Twins shot guests with her shotgun before smiling. On the left side, a twin pretending to be frozen popped out at guests.
Guests then entered the Lipstick Face Demon's Lair where there was flashing red lighting and the Lipstick Face Demon popped out twice. Guests then saw a Pepper's Ghost effect of the Bride in Black behind a window. Guests then went down a hallway with multiple doors where The Man Who Can't Breathe popped out at guests. After that, guests entered the Living Room of the Smith's Estate where Michelle Crane greeted guests as The Bride in Black came out to attack guests.
Next, guests entered the foyer of the house where they went down a hallway where the Bride in Black would pop out on the right at the end. Guests then entered Michelle's Bedroom where there was a static figure of Marilyn Crane on the bed as Michelle Crane popped out into the scene to attack guests.
Entering the church, guests would be startled by the Bride in Black who would pop out on the right. There were static figures of the Body Bag Ghosts with two of them being real and popping out at guests. Before guests exit, they were attacked by Michelle Crane. Finally, guests would enter a room where Dalton's drawings could be seen with flashing lights, and were attacked by The Bride in Black, Lipstick Face Demon, and the Man Who Can't Breathe before exiting the house.
