Doctor White

Doctor White or Deception was one of the seven icons that appeared during Halloween Horror Nights 7 (Singapore). He was one of the icons representing the seven deadlier sins, along with Malice, Empress Qing/Cruelty, Raven/Narcissim, Midnight Man/Manipulation, Lord Obsession/Obsession and Father Time/Perversion.

Backstory

Doctor White has been around since at least 1347, the year when the Black Death pandemic began. The Black Death originated in Asia and then spread through Europe, infecting and eventually causing the deaths of over 100,000,000 people. The plague outbreak led to the arrival of plague doctors in European villages. These "doctors" weren't actually qualified medical professionals. They were given free reign to perform ridiculous experiments on their patients. Some of their remedies included farting into mason jars, sprinkling dried frogs over buboes, and keeping a goat in your house. Usually, when plague doctors arrived in a village, it generally signaled that death had finally arrived.

Doctor White symbolizes Deception, one of the seven deadlier sins. Plague doctors often deceived their patients in the days of the Black Death, attempting to cure them through remedies that only resulted in a quicker death. In Laboratorium, Doctor White takes this a step further, administering his toxins and elixirs on sick, innocent people to give them superhuman abilities.

Design

Doctor White is commonly seen wearing the typical vestments of a plague doctor, including a wide-brimmed hat, beaked mask, and robe, all in white. He also wears brown leather gloves and carries a white cane. He is seen wearing this outfit in promotional materials for Halloween Horror Nights 7 (Singapore), as well as in the 7 Sinisters Opening Scaremony and the beginning of Laboratorium.

Under his mask, Doctor White has curly white hair, pale skin, reddish undereyes, and a pointy nose similar to a bird's beak. His left eye is either blue or brown (depending on the actor) and his right eye is white. A stitch runs across his right eye, and he wears a steampunk-style monocle on his left eye.

Throughout the Laboratorium show, Doctor White is seen wearing a white shirt and necktie, white pants, and brown leather boots. He also wears a leather, light-brown apron of a steampunk style.

Doctor White speaks in a British dialect. Depending on the actor portraying him, this dialect is either a standard British dialect or a Cockney dialect.

Appearance at Halloween Horror Nights Singapore

Doctor White had his own icon show titled, Laboratorium where he tried to cure the plague with unexpected results. He appears with his hunchbacked assistant Stultus as well as a gaggle of dancing plague doctors he calls his "pigeons." In the show, Doctor White demonstrates his various cures for the plague, some of which have rather intriguing results. He also invites a member of the audience onto the stage for their own examination.
