Death Mall was one of the five haunted houses that were featured during Halloween Horror Nights 7. It represented the "Deadlier" Sin of Malice, embodied by the character of Malice. It was located inside of Soundstage 28.
Description[]
Beware of Singapore’s most malicious ghosts who have awakened after our newest mall structural failure on opening day.
Story[]
This isn’t your regular shopping mall. It collapsed on opening day due to ignored safety processes and shortcuts forced on the workers by the mall owner. 500 guests were killed. What’s left of the forlorn mall is now filled with vengeful spirits seeking justice and revenge on the mall owner. Even innocent passers-by are not safe!
The premise of the house concerned the collapse of the SouthPoint Mall on the day that it was opened due to its poor construction. Now the souls of those who died want to take revenge for their deaths on you.
In this collapsed mall, vengeful spirits of those who died in the accident are waiting to exact revenge.
Controversy[]
The haunted house actually was the very first haunted house in Halloween Horror Nights Singapore history to gain controversy. In August 17th 2017, there were 3 memorial plaques set up in select bus stops within the Bugis and Bras Basah area, in which it was seen as a publicity stunt to drum up the interest for commuters to go to Halloween Horror Nights 7. While majority found it to be a creative and well-made stunt as it looked too good to be true, some netizens however didn't react the same as some felt it was disrespectful to those who actually died in real collapses and freak accidents, when in reality, designers had no intention of doing such an act.
Some also thought that there was in fact a real Southpoint Mall in Singapore which later also led to the same reasons above.
